All about Karen Liddle School of Dance
Karen Liddle School of Dance is an inclusive, not for profit, community oriented dance school in Hartlepool. Established in 1987 by our principal, Karen Liddle, it is her passion for making tuition in performing arts both inclusive and accessible to all, that has developed the school into how it is today. In Karen’s words, each and every student should have the chance to shine in doing something that they truly love to do and that has and always will remain our central ethos.
At KLSD, we believe in providing our students with a holistic dance education meaning that we offer diversity in the content that we teach, how we teach it and the dance styles that we have on offer at the studios. We offer tuition in Tap, Jazz, RAD Ballet, Pilates, Vocal, Drama, Acro, Street Dance, Parent and Toddler, and Dance Conditioning. Our students are encouraged to try a variety of different dance styles: Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Street, Acro, Vocal and Drama. In our delivery, we understand that each and every student is different and therefore needs nurturing in different ways. In guiding our students through their journey at KLSD, we aim to foster a love of the performing arts that lasts a lifetime and allow each and every student to achieve their own personal best.
It is through use of this approach that we have developed a series of pathways over the past few years to accommodate the needs of each individual child who comes through our doors. Whether a student is looking for a fun after school activity or would like to actively pursue a career in performing arts, we aspire to cater to all. Our recreational classes provide our students with a safe and encouraging environment where, for an hour or so, they can socialise with their friends, gain self-confidence and find a means of self-expression all whilst doing something that they love.
On top of all the recreational classes that we offer here at Karen Liddle Studios there is now the provision for students to take their training to the next level with masterclasses, opportunities to audition for associate schemes, professional workshops, examinations and competition teams. The specialisms of our amazing faculty of staff mean that whether vocational or recreational, each and every one of our students are always encouraged to grow as individuals, set their goals high and reach for the stars.
