As part of our role, we also deliver continued professional development sessions to local teachers in delivering dance sessions in primary settings. Our delivery in Primary school’s is so important to us as it allows more students to access dance within the town and encourages them to engage with it on many different levels.

One of our most successful community initiatives, that is outside of our school provision, is our annual Summer School through which we welcome around 150 children, both boys and girls, dancers and non- dancers, from within the Hartlepool area to join us for two weeks of fun and varied activities subsidised by ourselves and facilitated b
One of our most successful community initiatives, that is outside of our school provision, is our annual Summer School through which we welcome around 150 children, both boys and girls, dancers and non- dancers, from within the Hartlepool area to join us for two weeks of fun and varied activities subsidised by ourselves and facilitated by a group of amazing volunteers.
We always ensure that we use Hartlepool businesses for our activities and find it is a great way to show students and parents what amazing activities are available within the town itself.

Students who are 14+ are given the opportunity to support our faculty members with their classes gaining invaluable employability skills and an awareness of safeguarding. Just this year, we have paid to put four members of the school through a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification which is fantastic for their CV's and also means we have fantastic quality of teaching in the school.
In 2021 this programme has led to one of our assistant teachers, Ava Hewitson, becoming a full-time member of our teaching staff, a precedent, we hope, for many more to come.

Making opportunities accessible to all our students is so important to us and our fundraising committee, The Friends of Karen Liddle, are a huge part of that. In the past the committee have ran Christmas fayres, weekly bonus balls, Halloween parties. In the past school funds have raised over £10,000 allowing students to travel to London t
Making opportunities accessible to all our students is so important to us and our fundraising committee, The Friends of Karen Liddle, are a huge part of that. In the past the committee have ran Christmas fayres, weekly bonus balls, Halloween parties. In the past school funds have raised over £10,000 allowing students to travel to London to perform at Her Majesty's Theatre, have paid for a costume for each student in our annual production and have funded students to participate in prestigious programmes such as the English Youth Ballet and the Royal Ballet Associates.
